You might have dreamt about being swept off your feet by a prince like Julia Stiles in The Prince and me, but have you thought about how strict their lives must be led? Maybe you could be a royal if you don’t have a problem with the strangest rules the royal family has to follow. From not being able to finish your meal if the Queen stops eating to keeping 6 ravens at the London tower at all times. Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr 8. Don’t forget Myrtle in the wedding bouquet Flowering in the Queen’s 170 year old garden is the flower that every bride must include in their wedding bouquet, Myrtle. Ever since the 1800’s when Queen Victoria received the plant as a gift, from Prince Albert's grandmother, this tradition has stood. The bouquet always includes white flowers and each bouquet has been left at the grave of an unmarked warrior since Queen Victoria did it after her wedding. The Myrtle flower is thought to represent love and marriage so it’s only natural that this has been a well kept tradition. They are not limited to that one flower they can include a range of other white flowers, but you’ll see it at every royal wedding. 7. All black outfit is a packing essential Dress code for the royal family is not just a suggestion. They wouldn’t be caught dead wearing an inappropriate outfit in a setting that would offend anyone. For instance when Queen got news that her father had passed away while she and prince Philip were in Kenya she didn’t bring a black outfit to return to the country in. So when her plane landed she had to wait onboard until an outfit was brought to her. You can see in this photo that she’s solemnly exiting the plane wearing her black attire. So it’s apparent why the royals must keep a mourning outfit with them while flying abroad, but seems like a constant morbid reminder in their luggage that they are just waiting for someone to pass. 6.Not allowed to eat shellfish Buttery lobster and crab legs or creamy clam chowder just the thought of it get the saliva moving in your mouth. The royals however have to keep away from this type of seafood, because they aren’t allowed to indulge in it. The reason they don’t get to partake in a tasty shellfish platter is because it’s a high risk food for food poisoning. It happens to everyone at least once in their lives, but having a case of the stomach bug could really mess up their schedule and they certainly just don’t have time for that. 5. Keep your hands off of the royals You might not realise that a rule is being broken when you see this photo, but Lebrons hand really shouldn’t be around Duchess Kate’s shoulders. Americans are general inclined to touch when they first meet someone like with a warm hug or holding hands, but that should never been done with a member of the royal family. It seems like someone should have briefed Lebron on that before this little photo op or maybe they did and out of instinct he leaned in a posed how he usually does. Either way British tabloids were up in arms when this went public. 4. NO garlic in the royal palace or rice pasta or potatoes Now some of you might not have been affected by learning that you’d have to give up shellfish to be a royal, but could you go without garlic? You’d be surprised to learn how much garlic is included in some of your favorite dishes. The Queen despises the aroma of garlic and it’s just not allowed in the palace. Not only that, but she insists that no starchy foods are included in the meals served. So pasta, potatoes, and rice will not make it into the meal plan. So if you favorite dish is shrimp linguini with a butter garlic sauce then your straight out of luck! 3. Expected to learn multiple languages Having to be well versed in the art of linguistics is a must for the royal family. It’s no secret that the Queen herself is excellent at speaking in French she was once filmed confidently holding a conversation with the French president Francois Hollande. Prince William and Prince Harry have used their practiced languages at events. William used Mandarin a few years ago to welcome in the new year and Harry spoke a bit of Arabic in Dubai at a fundraiser. Most impressive though was Prince Charles who spoke in not one or two but five different languages in a anti poaching message. Mandarin, Arabic, Spanish, Swahili and Vietnamese. 2. Don’t turn your back on the Queen If you are lucky enough to strike up a conversation with the Queen you must not end the conversation yourself and turn around to leave. Seriously, this is a major faux pas, the Queen will end the conversation when she is done and excuse herself. Sometimes she will use her purse as a signal to others that she is done with the interaction by switching her purse to the opposite arm. 1...

To Queen Victoria, marriages were about strategic alliances. Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO Over the course of her 63-year reign, Queen Victoria strategically planned marriages to place her descendants in royal families all over Europe. In doing so, she created one of the most remarkable royal families in history. By the early 19th century, Europe had been at war for decades. After the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic wars killed millions, European leaders came together to restore peace by reshaping major states for a new balance of power. Great Britain went on to become one of the strongest states. And years later, Queen Victoria and her husband Albert came up with a plan to maintain that political power — they married their children to monarchs across Europe. By the 1880s Queen Victoria’s children were in several important branches of Europe’s monarchies. The royal unions didn't play out as Queen Victoria planned, but she continued to make more matches anyway. She had 42 grandchildren, and these 7 ended up on royal thrones. Her grandchildren would end up on the thrones of Britain, Russia, Germany, Romania, Norway, and Spain leading up to the most destructive war Europe had ever seen. 7 Pieces Of Jewellery Kate Middleton Has Received From The Royal Family The Cartier Halo Tiara There's nothing like a wedding to provoke a cascade of royal diamonds. On her big day, Kate wore the Cartier Halo tiara, which is made up of 16 graduated scrolls set with 739 brilliant diamonds and 149 baton diamonds and was bought by King George VI for the queen mother. White and Yellow Diamond Jewelry New father-in-law Prince Charles presented Kate with a set of art deco white and yellow diamond jewelry as a wedding gift. comprising a bracelet, a pair of earrings, and a ring. She has worn them many times, together and separately, and they have become a favorite for most of her black-tie events and for state occasions on overseas tours. A Golden Wedding Band Other wedding jewelry was not as flashy but equally significant. Following in royal tradition, Kate's wedding band was crafted from Welsh yellow gold owned by the royal family. just as William's mother's and the queen's were. A Charm Bracelet Another of Kate's favorite pieces was the wedding gift of a charm bracelet from Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. The chunky gold link bracelet is hung with a solid gold disc engraved on one side with Catherine's "C" and a coronet and on the other with Camilla's "C" and a crown. Kate has worn it to daytime engagements, Wimbledon, and Zara Phillips's wedding. The Maple-Leaf Brooch Three months after her wedding, Kate was traveling with royal diamonds in her luggage on her first tour. For Canada Day in Ottawa, she wore the queen's maple-leaf brooch with two different outfits. The brooch was given to the queen mother by her husband before their first tour of Canada in 1939 and was first worn by the queen in 1959, as well as being lent to Camilla for her first tour of Canada in 2009. Dangly Diamond Earrings Later in the tour, Kate wore a pair of diamond earrings to a BAFTA event in LA. She has borrowed them for other events since, including the annual diplomatic reception at Buckingham Palace in 2013 and the Chinese State banquet in 2015. Green Amethyst Earrings For their first Christmas as a married couple, William looked to Kate's favorite jewelry designer, Kiki McDonough, and splashed out on a pair of oval green amethyst earrings surrounded by diamonds and set in 18-karat yellow gold. Kate first wore them to church on Christmas Day that year, and they seem to have festive significance for her, as she also wore them to church on Christmas Day in 2013 and 2015. 6 Proofs That Living In A Royal Family Is Not A Piece Of Cake Nicknames are not allowed. Despite the fact that the press still refers to the Duchess of Cambridge as Kate Middleton and English sweetheart Diana became known as Princess Di, it is considered to be a big familiarity. Using nicknames and shortened versions of names is a violation of strict protocol. The Queen gets all the presents. Every present the royal family receives belongs to the reigning monarch. It’s strictly forbidden to sell them or give them to someone else. However, the Queen can keep the presents for herself or give them away. That’s why we can often spot some of Princess Diana’s jewelry on other members of the royal family. Everyone follows the Queen. According to royal etiquette, everyone should follow the Queen’s lead during official gatherings or family events. For example, when she stands, everyone has to do the same. You’re also supposed to stop eating when the Queen stops eating. Prince Philip always walks a few steps behind the Queen. The "Everyone follows the Queen" rule is even applied to Queen Elizabeth’s husband, Prince Philip. He always has to stand or walk a few steps behind his wife. 6 ravens must always inhabit the Tower. 6 ravens must live at the Tower of London at all times. This tradition dates back to the reign of King Charles II, who believed in a legend that said, "If the ravens leave the Tower, the kingdom will fall..." You can’t turn your back on the Queen. If you ever have a chance to talk to the Queen, make sure that after your conversation is over, she’s the first to walk away: you can’t turn your back on a monarch. It is considered to be a very rude violation of royal protocol. Queen has attended Royal Windsor Horse Show, held in grounds at Windsor Castle, every year since 1943 This year, she appeared without Prince Philip, who is currently recovering from a hip operation The monarch, 92, wore a powder blue cardigan, tweed skirt and Launer bag while at the equestrian event This year's event sees competitors taking part in a range of events, from show jumping to dressage The Queen was all smiles today as she soaked up the atmosphere at one of her favourite equestrian events of the year in the private grounds of Windsor Castle. Flanked by aides, the 92-year-old monarch could be seen beaming with joy as she watched the action at the Royal Windsor Horse Show in Berkshire on Wednesday, just a stone's throw from where the royal wedding will take place next weekend. Sporting a decidedly off-duty ensemble, the Queen swapped formal attire for a powder blue cardigan, white blouse and tweed skirt, carrying one of her many trusty patent handbags from Launer. The annual equestrian spectacular sees competitors taking part in a range of events from show jumping to dressage, along with displays from The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery and DAKS Pony Club. Her Majesty was later seen holding a pink rosette after one of her horses finished fifth, but even that did little to dampen her spirits

Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO It’s a busy time for the British royal family as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle prepare to tie the knot. And like any guest in attendance of a wedding, you’ll need to dress for the occasion. And one thing that literally stands out at British royal weddings are the hats and fascinators adorning guests’ noggins. While hats have fallen out of style for everyday fashion, they have remained as tradition at fancy shindigs like royal weddings, horse races, and other British formal occasions. Meghan Markle made her first public outing alongside the Queen of England herself on Monday for a celebration of Commonwealth Day, joining her fiancé Prince Harry and soon-to-be siblings-in-law Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton. Decked out in a white beret and matching coat with blue stiletto heels, Markle’s fashion caught attention, as usual. Her striking beret, designed by milliner Stephen Jones, had special resonance for the royal family: Jones was a favorite of Princess Diana, Harry and William’s mother. Check out these benefits of being british royal! From the prince harry and charles to the queen elizabeth herself, you won't believe this top 10 list of british royal perks! You Own Swans The Crown claims ownership of all mute swans. Dating back to the 12th century, the birds were a traditional favorite at banquets and feasts. The right of ownership is still in existence today for any swans in open water. However, in reality, it is only exercised by The Queen in certain parts of the river Thames. And of course, they are no longer served as dinner! Every year, there is an event called the “Swan Upping”, which is an annual census of the swan population around the river Thames. I guess Her Majesty likes to count what’s hers on occasion. 12. Knights or Dames The Queen is in charge of conferring all titles of honor including life peerages, knighthoods, and gallantry awards. As ‘fountain of honor’ it is the Queen’s responsibility to award members of the British and Commonwealth Armed Forces with honorary medals. Nominations are recommended to the Queen via the Ministry of Defense. The two highest awards include the Victoria Cross and the George Cross which both award bravery and gallantry, but the George Cross can be awarded to both civilians and members of the Armed Forces. Anybody can make a recommendation for a British national to receive an honor. Just fill in the form! If successful, the recipient will be invited to a ceremony, known as an Investiture, to receive their award. If you are receiving a knighthood, you are required to kneel and The Queen will dub you with a sword belonging to her father King George VI. If a member of a clergy is to be knighted, they are not dubbed – the use of a sword is thought inappropriate and they may not adopt the title ‘Sir’. There’s also that episode of Doctor Who when the Doctor and Rose Tyler were knighted but that probably doesn’t apply here as a perk. 11. Free Time I’m not suggesting members of royal families don’t have a lot to do. Queen Elizabeth II, even in her old age, keeps to a rigorous schedule of attending state events, meeting with the Prime Minister, and signing bills into laws. Even so, if people cook, clean, plan and generally pamper you in every way possible, you’re bound to have more free time than the average citizen. And let’s not forget how rich this Royal Family is. Going to work takes up most of one day and having a lot of money frees up that time. However, think about how much time is taken up with buying groceries and doing laundry. Now subtract that because they have a full time staff that sees to their every need. Prince William and Duchess Kate may be breaking tradition by hiring a part-time nanny rather than a full-time caretaker for their child, but their children will still have a full staff available to them for life. That includes housekeepers, drivers, personal chefs, ladies in waiting, security, and a private secretary -- plus any other type of servant or assistant you can imagine. 10. Amazing Homes After undergoing renovations, Kensington Palace became the permanent residence for Prince William, Duchess Kate, and their children. Their royal babies will have their own nursery in the mansion the British royal family has occupied since the 17th century. The royal offspring can also look forward to play dates at Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, Clarence House, and more! Some of the estates where the royals once lived now serve, or fully serve, as tourist attractions because they come with gobs of history. However, British Royals still live in some of these old, historical homes that are richly furnished and don’t come with a mortgage! 9. Born Rich Since the British Royalty was lucky enough to make it into the current century, that means they are loaded, which translates into they don’t really need to work. However, many of the Royal Family choose to have jobs. Like Princes William and Harry, many members of the British Royal Family have done some kind of military service, showing the rest of the world they’re just a normal person, serving their country. Just look past the armed escorts and the fact that their mere presence means their unit is now a high-value target for the enemy. They could just laze around and minimize the risk of getting shot by simply setting up a few charities, and checking in on them once in awhile.
